Training is the foundation of effective search and rescue operations.

Northern Search and Rescue conducts regular training in:

• K9 Trailing

• Human Remains Detection

• Area Search

• Search Strategy

• Navigation and Field Skills

• Search Management and Operations

We also conduct realistic mock searches that involve K9 teams, ground searchers, support personnel, and community volunteers.

Most training activities occur in Bayfield County and surrounding northern Wisconsin counties, but we frequently train with partner organizations throughout the Midwest.
